    The source articles are not all reputable – the example of Chartreuse makes absolutely no sense, that is bright yellow and looks nothing like Chartreuse; also the logic for that statement is also very questionable – your eyes actually see contrast the best so the particular wavelength of light is not as important as the contrast of the light intensity – your rod receptors are far more numerous and more sensitive than your cone receptors. Given that, chartreuse would be a very poor candidate as the “most visible color” because it’s stuck in the middle, being sort of picked up by all types of cells – regardless it’s moot because your eyes aren’t particularly sensitive to color anyway; if the luminance of a scene remains the same you can remove 50-90% of the color detail and not notice the difference – that’s how most video compression works.
